Take Action

2026 Legislation

Neonicotinoid pesticides are 7,000 times more lethal to insects than DDT. They pose an enormous threat to clean water and biodiversity in our state. Read the 2025 Report, Neonicotinoids in Connecticut Waters

The Connecticut Legislature passed a law in May 2025 that beginning in 2027 restricts the use of neonics on turf grass, which eliminates use on over 350,000 acres of lawns, golf courses, playing fields, etc. This was a victory, but there is more work to do on the issue.

CPR is asking legislators to raise the Pesticide Data Modernization Act, a bill that requires the CT Dept. of Energy and Environmental Protection to update its system for tracking pesticide sales and use. It requires a searchable database, accessible to the public, that shows what pesticides are being used, in what quantities, and where.
